Hans Withoos Netherlands 1st Place - Outstanding Achievement Food Professional "Squid (2)" Squid, the symbol of tenacity. 2 squids embracing each other in a luxury pot of dutch delftware. Their embrace is so intense and powerful, they squeeze the water out that is dripping over the table into the (painted) waterfall. It is part of the series "Withoos meets Withoos", an exquisiete fusion of my photographic paintings and the 17th century art of my ancestor Matthias Withoos. It is a combination of the original paintings of Matthias Withoos and my reflection on his art works and is represented in several international galleries and art fairs. |
