Bangladesh 1st Place - Outstanding Achievement Children of the World Amateur "Lost Childhood" One of the most important part of a child's life is being loved and nurtured in a family. Childhood is incomplete, even damaged, without it. But for some families, providing for their children and nurturing them with the necessary comfort is a luxury. They simply do not have the bare minimum. They end up giving their children into child labour so that they can earn money to survive. Ultimately, they become a little more than an additional - and much needed - source of income. Regardless of reasons, this essentially turns these children into day-labourers and inevitably contributes to a brutal loss of innocence. Photos show children at a ship propeller making factory at Sadarghat dockyard in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka, working without proper safety equipment and in an overall unsafe condition. They say their work starts at 7 in the morning and goes on until 7 in the evening. 12 hours of hard physical labour earns them $2.50 dollar a day. They have no weekly vacation. Pinu Rahman is an award winning self taught Freelance photographer based in Dhaka Grew up Pirojpur, a small country town in BANGLADESH whose main focus is Lifestyle & Travel. He completed his graduate & postgraduate degrees in Botany from The University of Dhaka. His interest in photography became a passion over 10 years ago. Professionally he is Banker (SPO, Rupali Bank Ltd). His passion and profession never converged, but he has been able to parallelly exit in both worlds. A banker by profession, he kept his artistic drive for photography alive and nurtured which brought some accolades and recognition both national and international Level . Among them One of the most prestigious award he achieved for Bangladesh in the ‘Best of Nation’ category from World Photographic Cup 2019 jointly organised by Europe and America. Besides This He won 30+ International recognition from prestigious International competition Like MCC Wisden, HPA china, IPA, MIFA,TIFA,VIPA,NYPA,PX3, Chromatic Photo Awards, Minimalistic Photo Awards, Better Photography Magazine Awards , Travel Photographer of the Year, Kioxia ExceLens Award, International Color awards ( Photographer of the year) etc. |
