Her twins were murdered when Hutu men raided her house, and another child was killed along with her mother. After years of struggling with anger, she joined a CBS Rwanda socio-therapy group. There, Alphonse Ranyemera (78), who was involved in her twins' murder and had served 15 years in prison, apologized. She forgave him.

She was brutally attacked, her arm was severly injured and her baby was slaughtered by a group that included Ezechiel Niyibizi (46), who later served ten years in prison for his crimes. Ten years ago, Rose joined a socio-therapy group where she encountered Ezechiel. Through the sessions, he apologized, and Rose ultimately forgave him.

Years later, in a socio-therapy group with CBS Rwanda, Jean Baptiste, after serving 12 years in prison, apologized, and they reconciled.

She fled to the forest with her three young children, surviving with help from compassionate Hutus. Ancile Nyiramimani (52), had betrayed four of Unabagira's in-laws, but they were saved by a man who led them to safety near the RPF. They met in a CBS Rwanda therapy group, and in therapy, Unabagira learned of Nyiramimani's extreme poverty and forgave her. They eventually embraced.
