"Golden Traces"
In camera analogue triple exposure taken on a sunny day in snowy Finland.

Ioana Vrabie is a fine art photographer based in Barcelona whose work explores psychological landscapes shaped by memory, displacement, and the body’s response to inherited tension. Working exclusively with analog, in-camera multiple exposure, she creates layered images where perspectives merge, revealing a slow, contemplative depth uncommon in contemporary visual culture. Born in Transylvania and raised in Tuscany, Ioana grew up between contrasting cultural worlds and within a context of family instability, experiences that instilled early questions around identity and belonging. After studies in classical humanities and Communication Sciences, and professional paths ranging from fashion photography in Milan to years spent in transient environments as a flight attendant, she began to understand how movement and dislocation shape somatic memory and internal narratives. Formal training at the University of the Arts London and continued development at Photofusion deepened her analog practice, sparked by a gifted roll of expired film that opened a decade of layered exploration. Her work has been recognized by the International Color Awards, IPA, Feature Shoot, Refocus Awards, and the Bridgeman Studio Award, and exhibited internationally. Through her images, Ioana reveals the quiet coherence that can emerge from fragmentation, allowing inherited echoes and inner landscapes to converge.
