Netherlands Honorable Mention Abstract Professional "La Tapestries - Venice Beach Fugue" Out of my series LA Tapestries in this composition I was inspired to play with a sequence of shots taken in a single alley in Los Angeles' Venice Beach. Geometric patterns, rhythm and lines are driving forces in my work. What fascinates me in photography is the interplay between realistic registration and geometric abstraction. This is why I often choose to photograph (elements of) architecture. Apart from its functions (housing, office space, contemplation), architecture also has a graphical, abstract dimension which is a primary focus of my photography. |
