Mauro Serra (Ortona, 1986) is a photographer and neuroscientist. After completing his scientific studies, he pursued his artistic vocation, developing his skills in Rovereto, Melbourne, and Milan, where he attended the CFP Bauer School of Photography. He currently works in advertising and fine art photography and teaches creative photography at Ferrari Fashion School in Milan.
With an ironic gaze and a pop aesthetic marked by saturated colors, Serra’s artistic project captures the viewer’s attention, prompting reflection through an uncomfortable—at times even disturbing—point of view. This effect is achieved through a conscious use of the artistic medium and visual communication, the latter shaped by his background in neuroscience. His work presents raw, unfiltered reality, adorned with a flamboyant dystopian mask that makes what is usually perceived as repulsive surprisingly appealing. } ?>
