Mother was an incredible knitter who taught me to knit. My father was artistic, dabbling in photography. He showed me how to print black and white photographs at the age of fifteen and gave me my set of pastels. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, I pursued a career in fashion design with a specialty in knitwear, all the while making photographs in my free time. I studied further at the New England School of Photography in Boston and photoshop and adobe suite at RISD. Now I photograph full time. My images have been repeatedly honored in the North American Nature Photography Association annual publication: EXPRESSIONS and have been published in National Geographic Books, the Boston Globe, The Cape Cod Standard Times, The Green Mountain Trading Post and others. I have exhibited widely in local galleries and art shows, and my work is held in many private collections. I specialize in nature and underwater, but do not confine myself. I am intrigued by behavior and try to capture a feeling or a story with my images. While an early black and white discipline instilled a strong sense of design and contrast, I truly love color! } ?>
