USA 1st Place - Outstanding Achievement Portrait Professional "Miss Anita" Miss Anita has been a waitress for over 50 years at the oldest existing bar-b-q restaurant in Birmingham Alabama. Some people collect Wedgewood. Others collect stamps, or rocks. Liesa Cole collects “people”. Whenever she spots an interesting character, she documents them with her camera and places the resulting image in one of the many vintage glass jars she discovered left behind In her 102 year old studio building. Then, the new “specimen” joins the others on the display shelf. This fascination with humanity is undoubtedly what drove Liesa to her profession. Whether photographing people or the objects they desire or the places they inhabit or roam, her passion remains the same. She seeks to discover and reveal the depth of beauty and intricacy of design in each. Accomplished in both the Fine Art and Commercial photography realms. Liesa was the first female photographer in Alabama to win "Photographer of the year" at the 201o Addy awards and was also recently awarded the National CRMA for best editorial photography for 2010. Her fine Art was selected for inclusion in the Atlanta celebrates Photography show this summer. And now she can claim the Master's Cup's International Photographer of the year for 2011. |
