Biography: Joan Grabel, a native of Brooklyn New York, developed her abstract minimalist aesthetic over the years from her studies in painting at the NY School of Visual Arts, New York University where she received a BS in Art and an MA in Art from California State University, Los Angeles. Living in Southern California for 25 + years, the undulating landscape inspired her earlier work and she expanded her art to landscape design.
