Title:A Mother's Love
The photo was taken at the Mara North Conservancy in Kenya. Our safari group found a group of lionesses with their cubs, but it was very hot and they all were sleeping. We patiently waited until near dusk when the heat abated. The cubs then started to play and I was able to get this photo of a lioness with cubs of two different ages. I was captivated by the young cub; in the next frame it grabbed the tail of the older cub, but I preferred this frame due to the mischievous look on its face.

Biography:
I am a practicing small animal veterinarian who began to photograph wildlife about twelve years ago. My interest started in seeing the animals and then grew into photography as I saw the photos that others were taking on trips. I am increasingly finding ways to be more creative in my photography so that the images are artistic and not merely representational. |
