Title:Reconciliation after the Genocide: Epiphanie & Jean Baptiste
Epiphanie Mukamazinpaka (36) survived the 1994 Rwandan genocide, in which all eight of her siblings and her parents were killed. At age six, she escaped an attempted rape after her family was burned alive by a mob, including Jean Baptiste Sibomana (49). Years later, in a socio-therapy group with CBS Rwanda, Jean Baptiste, after serving 12 years in prison, apologized, and they reconciled.
