Title:Reconciliation after the Rwandan Genocide: Rose and Ezechiel
Rose Mukarusagara (60), a Rwandan genocide survivor, lost almost her entire family, including her two eldest children. She was brutally attacked, her arm was severly injured and her baby was slaughtered by a group that included Ezechiel Niyibizi (46), who later served ten years in prison for his crimes. Ten years ago, Rose joined a socio-therapy group where she encountered Ezechiel. Through the sessions, he apologized, and Rose ultimately forgave him.
